Synopsis

On December 6, 1917, a French-owned munitions ship carrying tons of TNT exploded in the Halifax Harbor. The shock wave was so vast that it killed more than 2000 people injured 9000 more and completely leveled two square kilometers of northern Halifax. In the wake of the explosion there arose a tidal wave and a massive fire that swept though what remained of Nova Scotia's capital. This is the remarkable true story of a city's survivors who rose from the ashes to triumph over tragedy.
